Link Love

Hi readers! I don't have a recipe for you today, however I do have a bunch of really awesome links that I have loved reading and wanted to share with you.

20 Ways to Shop Smarter, Cook Faster and Eat Healthier.
-As you know from reading my blog, there is nothing I love more than a healthy but also quick meal. Some of my favorite healthy yet quick meals are: Garden Scramble for breakfast, Roasted Red Pepper and Pine Nut Hummus for a snack or appetizer, Turkey Pesto Sandwich for lunch and Chicken, Shrimp and Veggie Pasta for dinner!

A Beginner's Guide to Running.
-I think everyone out there should read this article! Why? Because everyone can run. Did you know I used to hate running. It's true. I was the girl in gym class who would "sprain" her ankle an hour before the timed mile run just to get out of it. I didn't actually enjoy running until I stopped playing sports. While playing sports (even throughout college) running seemed more of a punishment. I associated running with negative thoughts, since I usually had to run a set distance in a set time causing a lot of stress for me. A few months after quitting my college lacrosse team, I began training for the Philadelphia Half Marathon. If you would have asked me 5 years ago to run a half marathon, I would have laughed at you. But I did it, and I enjoyed it. Not only is running healthy, it is a stress reliever. If you want to start running but aren't sure which steps to take, this article is for you.

The New Superfoods.
-Want to know the new superfoods? Some might be a surprise to you-but thankfully most are easy to incorporate into our everyday diets!

Cheating with Food.
-I read this article in Self magazine a few weeks ago and found it very interesting. It is about a woman who "cheats" on her husband with food. I won't give it away any more, but I think it is so important that we have a healthy relationship with food. I myself have struggled with understanding the purpose of food in my life. I have just recently become content with the fact that food is nourishment for our bodies. And although I believe it is ok to indulge once in a while (say during a family event or holiday), we must control ourselves and learn to eat when our body is telling us to. Trust me, I still struggle with this...but I am getting much better at only eating when I am actually hungry instead of when I am bored.

24 Nutritious and Tasty Snacks.
-Real Simple Magazine wrote this article and I find it very helpful. Sometimes throughout the day I make poor choices in snacking simply because I don't feel like thinking of a healthy snack. It is much easier to just reach my hand into the bag of chocolate chips. This article shares healthy, tasty and easy snacks to keep you satisfied!

uncommongoods.
-This site has nothing to do with food or healthy living, but it is fun to browse! It sells unique gifts and unusual gift ideas. Check it out, but be prepared to become addicted.

So what have I been up to the last 24 hours? Well, there has been lots of headband making (hoping to start selling some soon, so let me know if you would be interested!)...

I tried to convince Ollie to be my headband model, but he didn't love the idea.

He felt much more manly with a mohawk instead.

We just can't get enough of this little guy...

I'll be back tomorrow with a recipe!

I'm in love with the one with the navy in the middle and I think I need it in my life! You should look into opening a store on Etsy if you decide you want to sell them! Also, thank you for posting all of the above links, especially the snacks one. Love your blog!

Awwww look at those puppy kisses! I always have what I call "make out" sessions with my dog. Nothing weird there though. I just let her lick me to death. Some people think it's gross but those people are NOT my friends. Haha
