A Bicycle Built for Two's First GIVEAWAY!

So, can we talk about what happened when I tried to make scones last week?

These were supposed to be spelt flour berry scones. Key words: supposed to be. A combination of a poor recipe, poor oven and poor baker caused them to look this way! I was in Marshall's Home Goods today and picked up some scone mix so I wouldn't ever have to make them from scratch again (ok, maybe I'll give them another try one day but not for a long time). After picking up a box for myself a great idea popped into my head-to buy a box for one of you! I also picked up a few more adorable items that reminded me of the approaching spring and will hopefully brighten your days:

Lemon Poppyseed scones and an adorable platter to place them on. Of course, a cute mug to enjoy some tea with as well :) Need a better look?

This is simply a thank you to all of you for taking time to read my thoughts each and everyday. If you want to be entered into the giveaway simply leave a comment under the post answering the following question:

If you could make these scones and enjoy them and a cup of tea with anyone (even someone throughout history), who would it be and why?

We will pick a random winner Friday afternoon and announce it shorty after! I'll then mail these goodies to the lucky winner. Can't wait to hear back from you all :) In the meantime I'll be doing this...

I'd have tea with your friend, and mine, Kelvie :) Missing her in Indianapolis!

I've never made scones, so this might be a good way to ease myself into it! You picked out some cute stuff! I would probably have to say that I would enjoy scones and tea with Dusty. I make him try everything I make, and I love him madly. We enjoy eating out or in together all the time!

p.s. I love the little striped shirt you put Ollie in! It made me have "puppy fever" so bad! You and Jeff will be great parents to Ollie! :)

I'd love to have tea with my Grandma...wish she had the opportunity to meet my daughter so we all could have had tea together.

Taylor Swift. For whatever reason, she is fascinating to me. She seems really girly, and fun!

Came across your blog accidentally. I cannot remember what I was searching for but I got sidetracked by your Samoa cookies picture and clicked the link. I spent Monday afternoon catching up on your blog. I am thoroughly enjoying it! And I plan to bake the Samoa cookies very soon too! Thank you!

Caitlin, Haley posted about your blog on Facebook so I had to check it out! This is an absolutely adorable blog!! You've totally got a new follower in me :)
I'm having a giveaway on my blog this week as well! It's for a Houdini Wine Preserver, I hope you will enter! Stop by to find out how :)

To answer the your question, I'd totally rock the scone savoring with one of my closest friends from high school that i have since lost touch with. She taught me how to make pajama pants and biscotti, and these would be amazing to share with her, should we reconnect. That's a perfect excuse to call her up and share some tea and scone!

All the best, I can't wait to see what else you whip up! ~Megan Pence aka Wanna Be A Country Cleaver

PS - I'm totally planning my wedding to my hunny now, and looking through your pictures they were Stunning! Congrats!

I really enjoy reading your blog, and all of the recipes I've tried so far have been FABULOUS! I love a good cup of afternoon tea, and this tea set is adorable:) If I could share them with anyone, I would have to say I would want to share them with my sister. I haven't seen her for a while since I moved away from home and it would be great to catch up!

I've always wanted to have tea with, or simply talk to Theodore Rosevelt. He simply always ben my favorite historical figure and I love history. I just find his presidency absolutly fascinating, he was the first to establish the national park system in america, preserving the beauty of nature America has to offer even today. He also worked to establish American as a major power, before many others had. I always awnser him as america's best president because he was able to act out of extreme greatness and make major lasting improvements to Aerica at a time of no extreme conflict in America.
ohhh and p.s. I absolutly love your blog! I'm 17 and a senior in high school and I absolutly love to bake, cook, eat, and live a heathy, active livestlye jsut like you guys and I think you are the most adorible couple : D, love your blog

I came across your blog this weekend and I adore reading it now! It's quickly becoming a daily habit :) Helps me escape from the rough schoolwork in college

If I could have tea and scones with anyone it would probably be with my sister, mother, and grandmother (who unfortunately passed on 15 yrs ago). Nothing can compare to the feeling of being with the women of the family and seeing all of the quirks and anomalies that get passed on from one generation to the next (and laughing/complaining/being grateful for them). There is truly nothing like tea and dessert with family...it's a Russian tradition!

Keep up the fantastic work!

I would have my scones and tea with my Grandpa Baker, this August will be ten years since he passed. He never got to meet my hubby or know I turned out okay and I just want to tell him I took his advice and lived.

Jesus. I would really love to talk to Jesus over tea and scones. I think that would be lovely :)

I would pick my grandma, because she LOVES scones and tea and I don't get to see her enough because she lives in Ohio and I live in California!

Anonymous said... Best Blogger Tips

I think I would pick MorMor, my Swedish grandmother, because she had a very interesting life which I heard little bits about growing up but never really talked to her about. For instance, I was told she was booked on the Titanic but at the last minute was transferred to another ship that got distress calls from the Titanic. There was a lot of drama in her life and hopefully, in heaven, I will find out what was actually true. Cheryl from New City

Well as almost every other post on here, I pick my Mom's Mom, Grandma Brumfield. She was a wonderful baker, and didn't care for coffee, but loved a good cup of tea.I inhereted her love of baking, and exotic taste for teas, so I could see us making these together, and even trying to tweek the recipe. I have some of her recipes, and when I make them, I think of her and wonder what she would think of the job I did on it. Perhaps we'll have tea and scones in heaven, and she can tell me how she would have tweeked them...Cindy from Maryland.

I think that I would love to have scones and tea with Audrey Hepburn because I loved her as an actress, she was always just so classy! And I think she would be lots of fun to hang out with! :)

I stumbled across your blog a couple weeks ago, and have thoroughly enjoying it! You two remind me so much of my brother and his new wife. Thanks for sharing all of your adventures!
I'd share scones with my hoobydooby. I know I can almost any time, but frankly there's nobody I'd rather be with! Corrie Ten Boom would be a pretty great second though. (c;

I would love to have Tea and Scones with my dad's birth parents and sister.

My dad and uncle (biological brothers) were adopted when they were 2 and 3. I would love to find out why she gave them up, and tell her how well they are all doing. Given the chance I wouldn't even need tea and scones, I would just love to meet them.

How about fictional characters? I'd have some tea and scones with Alice in Wonderland. :) Otherwise, I'd say C.S. Lewis.

Cait, I'm loving your blog! Just found it a week ago and am enjoying getting all caught up on your posts!

I would have tea and scones with my Grandma who passed away from cancer when I was 17. She was the most amazing woman, and I wish with all my heart that I could've known her as an adult.

I would sit down and enjoy the goddies with my mom. I'm in college across the country, and I miss her terribly (almost as much as she misses me <3). These plates remind me of my sunny California home and of her. :)

I would love to enjoy some warm delicious scones with my grandmother. She is someone so near and dear to my heart and enjoying a special warm baked treat over some tea would be one of the best things I can honestly think of at this very moment :)

Eeeeek! Such a cute giveaway! I love scones and I love tea :) I'm part English so that only make sense. If I could win the giveaway I would sip tea and eat scones with...Will Smith. I know that sounds really odd, but I just think that he is one of the most charasmatic people on the planet, bright, hilarious, smart, witty and kind. I'd love to ask him how he got to have such a beautiful outlook on life and how he always continues to project such a warm vibe.

Weird, but true. I've always wanted to meet since I saw him on Oprah.

I adore your blog and have been checking everyday for the past two weeks now. I am officially addicted.

I would probably go back ten years and have tea and scones with my Nana. She lives three hours away and we don't see each other often. She is now in poor health and I am unable to have a conversation with her without her forgetting what we are talking about and walking away. I miss the good ole' days when we could sit, talk, and eat her spaghetti she made for me every time I visited her.

I would love to eat scones with my friend Alysa, she lives in New Orleans so I don't get to see her often. Krissy@DaintyChef

Another person who found your blog via the Samoa GS cookie recipe. :) Can't wait to try it!

If I could have tea with anyone, it would be Jane Austen. I'm a great lover of all things Austen and I would love to have the chance to ask her about her inspirations and her body of work, as well as why so few of her great novels were published during her lifetime.

Unknown said... Best Blogger Tips

It's funny that you have this blog about scones, especially when I've been looking for reciepes for them, lol. I don't think I'm going to try to make them from scratch at the moment though.

As for having the tea with someone, I would've loved to have it with my mother. She's been gone for a few years now and I still miss her and think about her, especially when I try to make something of hers(never ever tastes anything like hers though) she was the type that never measured anything!

I have a 20 month old daughter named Bella (got her name from my moms middle name) that I think would enjoy a nice little English tea party, as long as mommy doesn't burn anything that is!!

Hi! I would have it with my grandfather, who died when I was a baby.
BTW I read your post that you did a long time ago on only buying organic meat for the environment, and I just want to say that because of that post, I have come to the definite conclusion that you're awesome. :DD

First off, I love all of the references people are making to family members here! :)

I would want to have tea and scones with my grandpa who passed away when I was in first grade or so. I can imagine we'd talk about his past in the air force, what my mom was like when she was my age, and important advice he'd be willing to share with me.

my mom...she passed away about 2 years ago from cancer.

I'd have a scone date with Gommy, the most fun grandmother in the world. I lived with her and my granddad (Gaggy of course) one summer and we made biscotti together. This would be a perfect way to reminisce on the fun we had :)

hi! Coatesville graduate who just recently stumbled upon your blog :) which is exceptionally cute! If I made scones and tea it would be for my mister (Kyle - also a Coatesville grad)who is living 3 hours away. I really appreciate any time I get to simply be with him, and I love to cook for him so I definitely choose him. Sunday morning with tea and scones sounds like a wonderful way to spend a Sunday morning.

Hello!

I would enjoy scones and tea with my mom, she is my best friend and my biggest fan. I am away at college and have a rigorous schedule as a biology major, so I don't have much time to talk to her. I love to sit and catch up with my mom. Looking forward to seeing her over spring break soon!

Thank you!

I would totally have tea with Mammy. Any time spent with Murielle is entertaining. Although, we would have to replace the tea with extra extra strong coffee and it would have to be 3 in the afternoon, or else she would be grumpy.

I would love to sit down and have scones and tea with my husband. Our works schedules don't permit a lot of free time for just the two of us and it would be such a nice way to spend a few quiet minutes together on a Saturday morning!

Oh Gee! Please try again! I have a greeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaat scone recipe if you want it. It's from America's Test Kitchen and it turns out every time! You would love it. Just message me :)

Okay, so this giveaway is so very generous and TOO CUTE! I want to be sipping some tea from that cute cup right now! This may seem silly but I'd sit down with my grandma in her younger years. I want so much to know what it was like to be a child of the Depression and then a teeager courting so many years ago. What made my grandpa "the one?" How did she manage to raise 5 kids? Did she sleep? Ever?! So many questions! I ♥ my grandma!
