Who needs Jamba?
Who needs Jamba Juice when you have a Magic Bullet? Not us!
Yesterday I have Jamba Juice for the first time. And yes, it was all it was hyped up to be. However, the price wasn't. Over $5.00 for something I knew I could duplicate at home?=craziness. So, Jeff and I bought something we have been wanting for a while now, a Magic Bullet, and made our own.
I ordered the Acai Topper at Jamba Juice and re-created it this morning. Of course, it tasted even better since it costed us close to nothing :)
Ingredients:
- 1 whole banana (half in shake, half for topping)
- 1 cup frozen fruit (we used a berry medly)
- 1/4 cup 1% milk or almond milk
- 1/4 cup organic strawberry yogurt
- 2-3 tablespoons of orange juice or fruit juice if needed (if shake is too thick)
- 1/3 cup granola of your choice for topping (I used Gluten-Free)
First, place half of the banana into the blender (save the other half for topping).
Next, pour in the 1/4 cup of milk.
Finally, add your berries and yogurt.
Blend it up! If the shake seems too thick after a minute of blending, add the few tablespoons of juice.
In no time (and much less money) you have a shake super similar to Jamba shakes! You can add any fruit to the shake and any toppings to make it your own.
Note: You don't need a Magic Bullet for these, but we are in love with ours. The clean-up is so much easier than a regular huge blender.
Check back later tonight for another item checked off of our Bucket List!

okay so- 1) do you recommend the magic bullet? like it? I've made Everett's baby food since he started eating and used my blender, but let's just say it's a labor of love. 2) was it a reasonable price? Where'd you find it?
Hey Kristen! I do recommend it. We used to have a large (too large) blender that was just a pain to wash every time we used it. This is much easier to clean. We talked to a guy at Bed Bath & Beyond (where we bought ours) and he said it is the best out there when compared to other products like it. With a 20% off coupon, its only 40 dollars :)I'm in the process of convincing Laur to get one too...
I am a smoothie NUT and the Magic Bullet has been on my "want" list as well! I love the idea of topping it with granola and bananas!
So agree, the Magic Bullet is truly a kitchen gem! I love our Magic Bullet!
Love this recipe idea, I can't wait to try it! My boyfriend loves the Berry Topper at Jamba Juice, but we don't live near one anymore. This will be great!
I must make this! I love the idea of the granola on top. It's 9:00 at night and I am craving this so bad right now!
this actually doesn't contain ANY açai.. so why not buy some frozen açai pulp next time (whole foods carries the Sambazon brand) and make it a real açai bowl by blending it in with the frozen fruits!
I made something like this with my bella cucina blender thing here is my recipe for the magic bullet or bc.
4 strawberrys
Previously crushed ice ( 1 cup)
4 blackberries
A splash of milk and orange juice.
Blend until desirable taste.
I am 13 so not really shire if u guys will like the taste
There are many things that made Jamba Juice a world-renowned brand of juices, shakes and smoothies. Also jamba juice secret menu is famous all over the world and in summers it’s my favorite place to stop by.
Loved this! I worked at Jamba for a summer in college and you can also add peanut butter to thicken it up and add some more protein.
